Alice in Chains’ sixth album is nearing completion and will be released sometime this summer, this according to guitarist Jerry Cantrell. The follow-up to 2013’s The Devil Put Dinosaurs Here should arrive while the band is on tour from April 28 to Sept. 15. “It’s not that we were keeping it a secret — we just didn’t want to say a whole lot about it until we had something to say,” Cantrell said in a new interview. The sessions are produced by Nick Raskulinecz, are now being mixed by Joe Barresi. In addition, Alice in Chains are preparing for their return to the road. “Touring is its own animal, and it’s really the best reward, because you get to stand in front of people that care about you and want to hear you play,” Cantrell noted.
