UPDATE: 20:16 EST

The storm is underway. One round of snow has traversed the region, with the heaviest snow still coming down for the Champlain Valley and northern NY, but a dry slot has come through for central and southern VT/NH. This will lead to patchy freezing drizzle for the next couple of hours there, before snow fills in for all.

Snow will really intensify for VT and NH overnight/early Friday morning and the center of the storm lifts through Cape Cod. At that point, the snow will be *very* intense for interior New England. Under that band, snow could come down at 2" per hour for several hours. Current thinking is that that band will set up through central/eastern VT.

Friday will feature morning snow, gradually tapering off to snow showers. A blustery Valentine's Day is expected with winds from the northwest around 10-20 mph. This will keep snow blowing around and roads, perhaps, icy.

Another system will pass south of New England Saturday, bringing back snow showers for us. Amounts should be light, on the order of a dusting-2".

Dry and colder Sunday and Monday. More snow and some rain will come through Tuesday. more…

Sincerely,
Chief Meteorologist Kerrin Jeromin
