AC/DC’s Bon Scott Honored With Sculpture Unveiled In Melbourne

A new sculpture in the likeness of former AC/DC singer Bon Scott was unveiled during a dedication ceremony in Melbourne, Australia, attended by Scott’s son Dave Stevens.  Steven did the honors and presented the artwork to the public for the first time. The sculpture is the work of artist Mike Makatron, and this new Scott tribute resides on the fittingly named “AC/DC Lane.”  Sydney is the city where the band was formed, but Melbourne holds many connections to former members of AC/DC.  Drummer Phil Rudd and bassist Mark Evans were both born there, and Scott lived there during periods during his life — first as a child, then as a young working musician. AC/DC also filmed its video for “It’s A Long Way to the Top (If You Want to Rock N Roll)” in Melbourne.  Footage from the new sculpture’s unveiling can be viewed in the article linked below.
